Bangalore: The political crisis in Karnataka seems to be coming to an end after Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa hugged Governor HR Bhardwaj at a public event on Wednesday in Bangalore.
At a public function in Bangalore the two shared dais which has been their first meeting after Bhardwaj sent a report asking for President's Rule in the state. After several rounds of verbal duels the two were seen hugging each other and Yeddyurappa even gave a bouquet to Bhardwaj.
Speaking at the function Bhardwaj also praised Yeddyurappa and claimed that he was not being partial when he sent his report against the state government to the Union Cabinet.
"Yeddyurappa is a hard worker. He works 10 to 15 hours a day. Yeddyurappa and I are friends. Politics goes on. I fought for principles, I am not partial, I treat everyone same and I require that in return," said Bhardwaj.
However, he also said that he was not going to resign.
"I will never resign. I will complete my tenure. I have discharged my constitutional duties. The BJP can say anything but I have maintained my stand," he added.
The two were at a function for the celebration of diamond jubilee of Karnataka Public Service Commission.
Bhardwaj and Yeddyurappa have been at logger heads following the former's report to the Union Cabinet. Yeddyurappa and his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, have also demanded that Bhardwaj be recalled.
The Karnataka Chief Minister had also paraded 121 BJP MLAs before President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday to show that his government still enjoys a majority in the state Assembly.
